Spring Street Cleaning

Glenwood’s neighborhood street cleaning has been scheduled for Monday, May 13th. Please give the crews a hand by moving your vehicles off of the street (check with a neighbor if you’re in need of a temporary place to park).

AGM 2013 – City Liaison Director Year-End Report

Lend a hand to your community, join a ‘work bee’ this Saturday!

Just a reminder that THIS Saturday, April 6th from 9am to 5pm we are looking for some volunteers to drop by the Community Hall to help out with our Spring Work Bee. Please let us know if you are able to help out for an hour or more. We are providing some refreshments for helpers so come on out and help us tear some things down, put some things up, empty cupboards, sweep the parking lot and several other little jobs. Many hands make light work!!! Comment here if you can make it for some of the day… Thanks!

Glenwood Street Blading

Glenwood is scheduled for neighbourhood street blading on the 21st (this Thursday). Place ensure your vehicles have been removed from the street to make things easier (check with your neighbour if you need a parking space for a little while).

Curious, interested, looking to ask some questions or hear what others have to say about the future on-street bike routes in our area? The City of Edmonton is holding a public meeting on these eventual additions to active transportation in the Jasper Place area, this Wednesday at Crestwood School.

Just a reminder that when the temperature is above zero, the skating rinks are closed.

Local Rezoning – Feedback Requested

After a public hearing, Council supported our request to refer the bylaw back to Administration for reconsideration as an RF4 (semi-detached). The applicant has stated a desire to construct at least three units on the site. The community league looks forward to working with them and the surrounding residents on a design which allows for a gentle increase in density, without overtly impacting the surrounding properties.

Learn to Skate at the Glenwood Hall

Our school aged Learn to Skate Program for kids ages 7-12 years old is in danger of being cancelled due to low enrollment.  If you have children of that age, or know of any who might be interested, please register by calling 311.  
 
There are still a few spaces in our preschool Learn to Skate Program (ages 4-6) as well. 
 
The lessons run for six weeks conveniently at the Glenwood Community Skating Rink at 16430 97 Ave.   
 
From January 12th to February 16th – Every Saturday:

 

Learn to Skate for Preschoolers ($30) runs from 1 pm to 1:30 pm  

Preschool Learn to Skate Course Code 486273

 

Learn to Skate for School Aged Children ($31) runs from 1:45pm to 2:30pm.
