Edmonton Police Service – West Division Alert

Attempted theft of autos

There have been attempted thefts of autos in the communities of Glenwood and Meadowlark Park.

In two incidents individuals entered the vehicle through an insecure door or forced entry through the passenger door. The steering columns were smashed in an attempt to steal the vehicles.

In both cases, the vehicles were still driveable when the owners found them; however the damage was extensive. They both occurred during the overnight period.

There were also similar incidents reported in the Lynnwood and Thorncliffe communities.

Be aware of what is going on in your neighbourhood, and please report any suspicious activity to the police non-emergency line at 780-423-4567. If you see a crime in progress, call 911.

Donations needed for Edmonton’s Food Bank

Each month year-round, more than 15,000 people are assisted by hamper programs, which are supported by Edmonton’s Food Bank.  The organization also provides food to soup kitchens, shelters, snacks to school children and other programs assisting those less fortunate throughout our community.  Edmonton’s Food Bank also provides programming that includes direct client services such as referrals to other agencies to ensure people are supported as much as possible.
