Get active and join in on games, sport, crafts, music, drama, and special events! A complete list of activities and special events are posted on the side of Green Shacks each week. If there is a game or activity that piques your child’s interest that you would like to have included in programming, just ask the Program Leader.

Program leaders will be hosting a variety of games, challenges, and activities that are sure to get kids active and having fun! Visit your neighbourhood Green Shack for more details.

As of September 6, 2020 the Exclusive Pool Use and Unified Community League Access Program will be suspended for the remainder of 2020.

Many of the City of Edmonton Pools are not currently open. The facilities that are open are running at reduced capacity, with adjusted operating hours that would put some of the Community Swim outside of our current operating hours.  This is creating an uneven opportunity for Community League Members to access City Facilities at these times.  When and how these programs will be reinstated will be established for 2021, barring any new or additional COVID 19 restrictions from Alberta Health Services.

Family Day is almost here! Once again Glenwood is partnering with the Meadowlark Community League in a winter carnival to make your long weekend even better. Visit the Meadowlark hall this Sunday (Feb 16) for all the goodness:

NOTICE: Due to the coming frigid weather we are cancelling this Saturday’s (Jan 11th) Learn to Skate Party. We will look to reschedule for a date in February.

Volunteers are needed to make this year’s event a success. Shifts last no more than 1.5 hours. Please click here to signup!

The 11th Annual Party in the Park & Membership Drive welcomes residents from both the Glenwood and Meadowlark communities!

Join us for $1 food items (cash only), family fun, music, entertainment, and of course, the evening ends with an amazing fireworks display. Both communities have their memberships available for sale with cash or cheque.

Community league memberships offer perks around the community for families like:

Free community swim,
Free skating,
Discounts at city recreation facilities,
Access to community sports,
Discounts at some merchants and more.
Membership sales also help support the leagues in all that they do within the communities.

Big Bin Event!
The Meadowlark and Glenwood Community Leagues are giving you another chance to finish your spring cleaning:

Saturday, June 15 in Jubilee Park (92nd Ave., just east of 163 St.) 9 am to 2 pm.

This year’s event will also have an electronics bin.

Edmonton Public Schools will be holding a public meeting to present options for the redesign and reconstruction of Westlawn School in Glenwood:

Ward 1 Councillor Andrew Knack will be hosting a public meeting regarding the rezoning application to build row-housing at 97th Ave and 158 St immediately following the AGM

You’ve probably heard of and/or visited the Food4Good affordable fruit and veggie market at our community hall, but did you know that Food4Good is planning to bring a community food centre to Jasper Place? The free Learn to Skate program runs on February 16th and 23rd from 5pm-8pm. (Ice is still available for public skating during program hours).

The Winter Green Shack runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30-6pm, and Saturdays from 1-5pm until March 2nd.

We’ve partnered with the Meadowlark Community League to provide an amazing evening for Glenwood residents!

Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy hot dogs and chilli, bonfires, fireworks, hayrides and other fun indoors and out.
