University of Alberta Urban Heat Study

It’s been a hot summer, and a research team from the University of Alberta is looking for some information on how residents have noticed changes in the urban heat island effect. More info is below:

Description: We, the Urban Environment Observatory research team at the University of Alberta, are looking at how the urban heat island (UHI) effect has changed in Edmonton’s neighbourhoods over the last few years. This research is funded by the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation partnering with the City of Edmonton. Through this research, we are trying to understand resident’s perception and experience of the UHI effect and their mitigation and adaptation behaviours.
