The Glenwood Community – West LRT Expansion Town Hall Meeting

Presented by the Glenwood Community League

In recent months the Glenwood Community League has been a strong voice in the debate over proposed West LRT expansion. Our concerns go farther than just the perimeter boundaries of the Glenwood neighborhood, but extend to the success of the Stony Plain Road and Jasper Place revitalization efforts, as well as the intertwined social, environmental, and economic well being of our neighboring Jasper Place area communities.

While we have spent considerable time searching for answers and taking our concerns to city administration and council, we now present the opportunity for you, the individual citizens of our neighborhood to do the same. On October 22nd, 7:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Community League hall (16430 – 97 Avenue) you will have the opportunity to see the proposed LRT route, as presented by Adam Laughlin (Director of Strategic Planning, Transportation Department), as well as ask questions of Adam, and other key invited guests.

As a community, we have been placed in the spotlight by the proposed West LRT expansion. Glenwood’s location has made it a key player in all but one of the three originally proposed LRT corridors, as well, local revitalization efforts have played a key part in the revised route selection criteria, as voted on by council last fall.

This is an issue with the potential to set the course for Glenwood, Stony Plain Road, and the Jasper Place area for decades. We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

The Glenwood Community League Executive
